LUCERNE FESTIVAL at Easter begins with a birthday party for one of the great conductors or our time: a gala concert celebrating the 85th birthday of Bernard Haitink. The honoree, who has inspired audiences in Lucerne in recent years with his Beethoven and Brahms cycles, will take this occasion to launch a substantial new project devoted to Robert Schumann which spans the Romantic composer’s complete symphonies and instrumental concertos. - LUCERNE FESTIVAL at Easter - 5th to 13th April 2014.
The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra will play host to the third season of «Russian Music Lucerne». For five days, concertgoers will be able to enjoy a wide array of events. The variety of concerts are as much a part of the charm of «Zaubersee» as are the diverse venues: the modern KKL Lucerne, the historic Zeugheersaal of the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern and the intimate St. Charles Hall with its lawns sweeping down to the Lake in Meggen among others. As in the first two seasons of «Zaubersee», the festival will focus on the rich cultural treasure of Russian artists as well as the inspiration they found along the shores of the lakes of Switzerland. - ZAUBERSEE - Russian Music Lucerne - 28th May - 1st June 2014.
