In the heart of Gstaad there used to be a cheesery, i.e. a cheese dairy. In 1962, Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan built in its place the «Hostellerie Chesery». Robert and Susanne Speth have been the hosts of the well cared-for chalet since 1984.
Robert Speth was awarded with 1 Michelin star in 1998, in 2005 he was named as «cook of the year» by GaultMillau. A choice of his menus - as usual without gadgets, with impressive presentations instead - in the restaurant Galerie at the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern.
He combines simple and precious products very skillfully, knows the italian as well the french kitchen very well and inspires himself with the asian cookery. His Brie de Meaux «Chalet Chesery» filled with truffle is distinctive: Robert Speth is filling every single Brie personally!
